Faubourg Marigny

New Orleans earliest 'suburb', it was originally a parcel of land belonging to Pierre Phillipe de Marigny de Mandeville, who subdivided it in 1808.  It is now a complex maze of streets running together in triangular fashion.  It's offerings are similar to that in the French Quarter, but not quite as touristy.   Visit the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood website for current information.
